love Pricebender™ from TripleClicks its a live penny auction where
items start at $0.01 cent and go up a penny each time someone places a
bid! I have seen items go up for sale and won at 80-99% off retail
prices (most closer to 95-99% off)
Pricebenders™ is a section at TripleClicks.com that features
live "penny auctions."
Pricebenders™ Auctions deliver brand new (and, occasionally,
refurbished), brand name merchandise, gift cards, and more at prices
that are far below typical retail. In fact, prices start at just $.01

just one cent. The final bidder may then buy the item for the ending
price (usually a fraction of the normal retail price).
TripleClicks "TCredits" are used for bidding.they come in
packs of 1, 10, 20, 50, and 200...(if you are an SFI member there are

products, downloading music, and more.
Once you've got your TCredits, you're ready to start bidding.

auction, you still win!...because for every bid, you earn 5 Member

Bidding/How To Bid
Q: How do I get started?
A: First (if you're not a member already), you'll need to sign
up as a TripleClicks member, then head to our FEATURE AUCTION
Next, you need some TripleClicks "TCredits" to bid with.
TCredits are available in paks of 1, 10, 20, 50, and 200...(if you are
an SFI member there are also 100, 125, and several other packages of
TCredits for sale) for as little as $.29 a piece. Note that TCredits
can also be used for selling items on TripleClicks, purchasing
products, downloading music, and more .
Once you've got your TCredits, you're ready to start
bidding...which is as simple as clicking the "Bid Now!" button on one
of our auction pages. Be the final bidder and you win the item. It's
Special note: With Pricebenders™, even when you don't win the
auction, you still win!...because for every bid, you earn 5-10 Rewards
Points (MRP)which can be exchanged for real Items in our Store.
Q: How do I know if I'm the high bidder?
A: Each time a bid is received, the auction panel will automatically
change to display the User Name of the latest bidder. Note that bids
can be coming in rapidly and you may not see your name appear every
time you bid. If you just placed a bid and you see someone else's name
appear, it probably means that person placed a bid a fraction of a
second after you did. You can verify this by viewing the Bid Log
located on the Auction Details Page. If you do not see your name on the
Bid Log, you could be experiencing technical difficulties and you may
wish to contact one of our Customer Care representatives for assistance.
Q: Can I see who is bidding on an auction?
A: Yes, we provide a Bid Log, which lists the most recent 10
bids/bidders. The Bid Log is located on the Auction Details Page. If
you are viewing an auction from the TripleClicks homepage, to get to
the Auction Details Page, just click on the title of the item being
Q: What does "WBF" mean in the Notes column of
the Pricebenders Auction Schedule?
A: When you see "WBF" in an auction's Notes column, it means that it
will be "Winner Bids Free" auction, and the winning bidder will receive
all of his/her bids back upon completion of the auction.
Q: What does "1WA" mean in the Notes column of
the Pricebenders Auction Schedule?
A: The term "1WA" in an auction's Notes column indicates a special
auction open ONLY to bidders who have never won a Pricebenders auction
Q: I click the bid button, but nothing happens.
What should I do?
A: Try restarting your Web browser. If that does not resolve it, try
restarting your computer. Also, make sure you are using the recommended
software and hardware specified below.
Q: What happens to the TCredits I've used in
bidding if I don't win the item?
A: Using a TCredit for bidding on a Pricebenders auction means you are
spending it, the same as if you used a TCredit for listing something
for sale on TripleClicks or buying a song from the store or any of the
other actions for which TCredits can be used.
Q: So I used TCredits to bid with, but if I
don't win, I get nothing?
A: Even when you don't win the auction, you still win! Because for
every bid you place, you earn 5-10 Member Rewards Points (MRP).
Q: Why not just return the TCredits to my
account if I don't win?
A: That's simply not feasible. The whole reason that the winning price
can be so low--often just a fraction of the retail price--is precisely
because TCredits are spent on bidding. That's what pays for the
products that are auctioned. Without this, this type of auction is not
possible. If you are not comfortable with this type of auction, we
recommend that you do not participate. Instead, you can use your
TCredits on our many other products and available services.
Q: When does an auction end?
A: An auction ends when the auction clock hits zero (no time left), but
the clock resets with each bid received. Hence, there's no way of
knowing how long an auction will last. It will go on until only one
bidder remains, who, of course, becomes the winner of the auction.
Q: Is there a listing of winners available so I
can see the kinds of deals being won?
A: Yes, see our RECENT WINNERS page
Q: You say auctions items are brand new or
refurbished. How will I know if it's the latter?
A: If an item is refurbished, it will be clearly stated in its
Tips & Strategies For Winning Pricebenders™ Auctions
There seems to be no limit to the number of tips and
strategies out there on the Internet about how to win penny auctions
and spend the least number of bids to do it. Trouble is, there seems to
be little consensus on many matters. Some "experts" recommend using
auto-bid tools, others warn against them. Some stress intricate
strategy and mathematical accuracy of bid timing and amounts. Others
claim that winning is most simply a matter of bidding at the right time.
However, what most DO agree on is that preparing yourself and
practicing a few, clear penny auction do's and don'ts could save you a
lot of money AND increase your chances of winning. For preparation,
read (and re-read if necessary) the "How It Works" article HERE. Then, before placing a bid
for a Pricebenders™ auction item, be sure to familiarize yourself with
these essential do's and don'ts:
DO...determine a bid budget and stick to it.
DO...watch the auction timer. If the counter almost reaches
zero again and again before starting over, it means that there are
probably not very many members bidding on that item...and that means
your chances of winning are higher.
DO...consider some of the less-expensive items. Generally,
fewer people bid on cheaper items and, again, fewer bidders mean your
chances of winning are higher.
DO...observe the auctions and list of recently won auction items
to determine the best time of day that consistently have the fewest
bidders (generally, the lower the winning price, the less bidders there
DO...look for Pricebenders auctions designed for new bidders:
"1WA" auctions are open only to bidders who have not won a Pricebenders
auction before, while "Jr" (Junior) auctions are open to bidders who
have won a total of fewer than 9 auctions.
DO...enter the "Pick The Price" contest. Submit the
amount you think will be the winning price of any Pricebenders auction.
Pick the exact price--or be the closest if no exact picks--and you'll
win a share of our daily Zackpot and a nifty badge for your
TripleClicks Homepage! Play for just one TCredit per entry/auction. No
purchase necessary to win. Plus, each entry earns you 5 Member Rewards Points! Hundreds of
chances to win weekly and no win limits.
DO...purchase your TCredits for bids in
bulk if you can. In this way, you'll minimize your cost per TCredit (as
low as $0.29 each) and ensure you'll have as many as you need to
complete an auction. Running out of TCredits at the last moment can be
DO...on the Pricebenders Auction page, you can
check out the auction item's description page by clicking the item
name. In this way, you'll be sure to know EXACTLY what you are bidding
on and avoid unpleasant surprises later. You'll also be able to see the
bid log listing all bidders for this item. Tip: Click on a bidder's
name to see their TripleClicks "TConnect" Webpage to learn more about
him or her.
DO...use Pricebender's Bid Assist with care! This useful
tool--located in the sidebar--can ensure your bids are entered
automatically, so you won't have to stand by monitoring an
auction...but it should be used carefully and with your budget in mind.
Tip: Let's say you think an item's final price is going to be
$5.75. A smart auto-bid might be to set up, say, 10 TCredits for
between $5.50 and $6.00. Of course, keep in mind that if the price
never reaches $5.50, none of your bids will be placed. Conversely, if
the price goes beyond $6.00, someone else may win the auction after
your ten TCredits have been automatically bid.
NOTE: Some auctions don't allow bid assist--see the Auction Schedule for details.
>DO...watch for "UP" (Under Performer) auctions on the Auction Schedule. They are
historically the easiest auctions to win.
DO...only participate in Bid Dog auctions once you've become
familiar with Pricebenders auctions and have won some other types of
DO...watch the Pricebenders Bonus Bar--a live, realtime
progress bar that sits atop each auction--while bidding. If bidding
reaches the end of the Bonus Bar, we LOCK IN the price. So, now matter
how much higher bidding goes, your purchase price will always be AT
LEAST 77% off the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price)! Of
course, if bidding ends before reaching the end of the bar, your
savings could be up to 99% off, but you're always guaranteed to save at
least 77% off retail on every auction.
DO...participate in flash drawings for FREE TCredits. Just bid
at least once in the 5 minutes prior to the drawings (marked by the
stars on the Pricebenders Bonus Bar). You'll earn one drawing entry per
bid during this 5-minute time period.
DO...read Pricebenders Rules & Policies
and be sure you understand the rules and limits for participating in
the penny auctions.
DON'T...spend more on an auction than you are willing to lose.
DON'T...wait too long to bid. Connectivity issues, computer
crashes, latency (network delays), and other factors may interfere with
your bid. If you wait till the last few seconds to bid, you're running
the risk that your bid won't go through in time. And make sure you
understand that when you bid, it just resets the auction clock, so
being the last one to bid before the clock hits zero gains you little
if anything...and may just keep you from winning if your bid is delayed
by one of the afore-mentioned technical issues. If your strategy is to
wait until the "last possible moment," we recommend bidding with NO
LESS THAN 5 seconds remaining.
DON'T...get overly excited when bidding. You'll be more likely
to break your budget and/or use your TCredits up faster than you need
DON'T...get in a bidding war with other bidders. If you can,
sit back and let others battle and use their TCredits trying to out-bid
DON'T...lose an auction because of a distraction or needing to
leave your computer for a moment. Turn on Bid Rescue (located in
sidebar) to automatically place a bid for you when needed. Note: For
even more peace of mind, you can set Bid Rescue to ON by default for
all auctions you participate in.
Read all the FAQs so you're familiar with how Pricebender™
auctions work before you begin bidding.
- Observe auction activity for a while before jumping in.
- Before starting to bid on an item, determine your "bid
budget" and then stick to it.
- Make sure you have purchased as many TCredits as you'll need
for bidding. Running out of TCredits at the last moment could be costly!
- Watch the auction timer. If the counter almost reaches zero
again and again before starting over, it means that there are probably
not too many users bidding on that item.
- Fewer people generally bid on cheaper items. These auctions
therefore give you your best opportunity for winning.
- Use the Auto-Bidder with care. It can be an effective and
powerful tool for winning auctions, but make sure you employ a sound
plan when using it.
- Timing is the key to winning.
